Workshops devoted to the role of the Previz & Layout artist in the process of creating animated films, game cinematics and VFX projects. Participants will learn how pre-visualisation and layout can be used to effectively plan visual narratives, optimise the production process and support the work of the creative team. The classes combine theory with practice, offering participants a case study analysis from production brief through planning and implementation.
Workshop programme:
- Introduction: The role of Previz & Layout in production planning. Discussion of how pre-visualisation supports the director and team in the stage of planning scenes and shaping the rhythm of the story through editing.
- Working with the director and storyboards. How to interpret storyboards, develop them and translate them into dynamic 3D shots.
- Building a visual narrative before animation begins. Creating a coherent visual message that supports the film’s drama even before animation production begins.
- Previz tools and workflow. An overview of the most important tools and technologies used in previsualisation.
- Case study: from brief to final effect. Analysis of a selected animation sequence – from the brief stage, through planning, to the final result on screen.
- Q&A session – an opportunity to discuss participants’ own projects.

The workshops are aimed at people who want to explore the process of previsualisation and layout in film, animation and game cinematics productions. Participants should be interested in combining visual storytelling with technology and teamwork in a production environment.

Film editor and lecturer at the Leon Schiller National Film School in Łódź. A graduate of the Department of Film Editing and a PhD candidate in the arts — her completed dissertation “Editing as Collision: A Reflection on the Creative Role of Editors and the Technical Function of Editing in Polish Animated Cinema” is awaiting public defense.
She specializes in editing animated films and marketing materials. Winner of the Polish Filmmakers Association President’s Award in the Polish Competition at the 64th Krakow Film Festival (2024). Films she has edited have been screened and awarded at festivals around the world, including DOK Leipzig, Annecy International Animation Festival, Animafest Zagreb, Paris International Animation Film Festival, Kaboom Animation Festival, Slamdance Film Festival, and many others.
Since early 2024, she has been collaborating with Platige Image, contributing to projects for CD PROJEKT RED, Warhorse Studios, PLAION, and 11 bit studios.

Dominik graduated from the Film School in Łódź with a Master of Arts degree in Animation and Visual Effects. He also received a scholarship at the Animationsinstitut of the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg in Germany.
He currently leads the Previz Department at Platige Image. With many years of experience in the field of previsualization, he helps directors bring their vision from storyboard to screen. Dominik specializes in the previsualization of game trailers and VFX projects based on motion capture technology.
Throughout his career, he has collaborated with some of the most renowned clients in the film and gaming industries, including Activision, Bethesda Softworks, CD PROJEKT RED, Creative Assembly, Electronic Arts, Lucasfilm Games, Square Enix, Techland, Ubisoft, Netflix, Sony, and Warner Bros.

Dominik ukończył Szkołę Filmową w Łodzi, na wydziale animacji i efektów specjalnych, z tytułem magistra sztuki. Otrzymał również stypendium w Animationsinstitut w szkole Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg w Niemczech. Obecnie kieruje działem previz w Platige. Dzięki wieloletniemu doświadczeniu w dziedzinie prewizualizacji pomaga reżyserom przenieść ich wizję ze storyboardu na ekran. Dominik specjalizuje się w prewizualizacji trailerów do gier i projektów VFX opartych na technologii motion capture.
