Faculty of Graphic Arts, Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków
The Animated Film Studio is one of the leading educational centres for animation in Poland. Its program is progressive and focused on nurturing the originality and artistic potential of its students. While we primarily produce author-driven projects, we also teach teamwork and collaboration.
The curriculum covers all aspects of filmmaking — from scriptwriting, storyboarding, and shooting, to editing, sound design, and music. Students are trained in all animation techniques: traditional, digital, 2D, 3D, as well as spatial and stop-motion animation.
The courses are complemented by lectures and specialist workshops on film theory and history, sound, music, editing, and production. The specialized track leads to the creation of a graduation film, which serves as the student’s artistic debut.
We collaborate with composers, sound engineers, editors, and cinematographers, and students have access to a professional sound studio and a motion capture studio.
